Oregon court rules & publisher orders

Search a rule number or topic in circuit-court local rules and statewide UTCR. County filters select sources; they do not determine the court, venue or applicable law.

36 Oregon counties · 27 local rulebooks · 24 UTCR chapter PDFs

Machine-extracted or machine-OCR source text, not independently validated legal requirements. Later amendments, case orders, exceptions, signatures, service, fees and deadlines require original-source review. Reserved and repealed chapters do not create requirements.

Reserved and repealed-only chapters are retained as such. Amendment and supplemental orders are searched separately because their extracted text may include deleted or superseded provisions. Some scans have machine OCR, visibly labeled and unreviewed. Remaining scans have original-source links only. Verify all text and amendment markings in the PDF.

County coverage and remaining source gaps

All 36 counties have a mapped SLR rulebook. Supplemental orders remain incomplete. A zero below means no retained order in this collection; it does not mean that the court has no orders. OCR counts are machine-recognized documents, not legal review.

A-10
IV. DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF SPRING 2026 ACTIONS

A. APPROVED CHANGES
These changes have been approved by the Chief Justice or the Supreme Court
as appropriate. They are effective on August 1, 2026. Deletions are shown in
[brackets and italics]. Additions are shown in {braces, underline, and bold}.
New rules are shown without the use of [brackets and italics] or {braces,
underline, and bold}.

1. 1.080—FORMAT AND LOCATION OF COURT RULES

Amended to clarify numbering requirements for Supplementary Local Rules
(SLR).

ACTION TAKEN
No motion was made to change the committee’s preliminary
recommendation of approval. Accordingly, by committee convention, the
October 24, 2025, preliminary recommendation became the committee’s
final recommendation of approval.

EXPLANATION
This proposal, submitted by Rachel D. Trickett, UTCR Reporter, amends
UTCR 1.080 to clarify and strengthen the numbering requirements for
Supplemental Local Rules (SLRs). The prior version of UTCR 1.080
provided only general guidance and lacked the specificity needed for court
staff and the UTCR Committee to effectively navigate existing SLRs,
proposed new SLRs, and proposed amendments during the annual review
required under UTCR 1.050(2). The approved amendments are intended
to ensure that UTCR 1.080 clearly serves its purpose by:
• Maintaining consistency in SLR numbering;
• Promoting the ability to correlate SLR to related UTCR; and
• Avoiding confusion with UTCR of the same number.

Relatedly, a nominal conforming change to UTCR 1.010(3)(b) updates the
citation to UTCR 1.080 from UTCR 1.080(3) to 1.080(4).

No public comments were received.
