Find Oregon court-fee waiver resources

Find the official forms, understand the difference between a waiver and a deferral, and check how to submit a request to the court handling your case.

  1. Start with the official Forms Center

Open the Oregon Judicial Department’s Fee Deferral and Waiver page and the current instructions. Its statewide forms are accepted in Oregon circuit courts. For a different court, confirm that court’s procedure. A court-fee request is separate from a public-records fee waiver.

  2. Understand what you are requesting

A waiver excuses the specified fee unless the court later orders otherwise. A deferral delays payment and may involve a payment plan and additional costs. Approval is not automatic; the court can also postpone its decision or deny the request.

  3. Prepare the application and proposed order

Use the exact case heading and county. Identify the fee you are asking about, complete the financial declaration honestly, and follow the instructions for the proposed order without filling in the judge’s decision. The January 2026 instructions explain additional requirements for certain adults in custody.

  4. Confirm submission and read the result

Ask the court about filing method, timing, and any missing materials. Keep the filed request and the court’s order. Relief applies to the specified fees and case; it is not a blanket waiver for every future cost. Read any payment obligation or later notice carefully.

The court’s financial application contains private information. Submit it through the court’s required process, not through this guide or YouTube.
