ERDC child care subsidy and waitlist screening
Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care · Shared Oregon or institution-specific route
Helps qualifying families pay an approved child care provider; families may owe a copayment.
Confirm current availability: ERDC currently has a waitlist. Some families can qualify for an exemption; applying does not reserve a funded child care slot.
How to apply: start, prepare, submit and follow up
Amount or support
Depends on eligibility and program rules.
Start here: Apply for ERDC through https://one.oregon.gov, by calling 800-699-9075, or at a local ODHS office. Applications are screened for a waitlist exemption; applying does not guarantee funded child care.
1. Is this for me?
Oregon families meeting income, child-age and qualifying activity rules, such as work, school, TANF or certain Child Welfare participation.
Service area: Oregon; confirm program-specific location and institution requirements.
2. What should I prepare?
Some documents may be conditional. Ask about alternatives. Checkmarks are temporary and are not saved or sent.
3. Where and how do I submit?
Submit the ERDC application and verification through Oregon ONE or the ODHS benefits office handling your application. Complete the required interview. DELC administers ERDC and pays approved child care providers.
- Apply in ONE, by phone at 800-699-9075, or at a local office.
- Complete the interview and screening for waitlist exemptions.
- If waitlisted, keep contact details current and respond to waitlist notices.
- If approved, select an ERDC-approved provider before care begins and confirm your copay.
Timing: Applications can be requested year-round; follow the deadline on any agency notice.
4. What will it cost?
Details to confirm with the provider
A program-specific cost explanation has not been verified. Ask the provider whether this route has any fees, required contribution or repayment terms, and what cost assistance is available.
5. What happens after I submit?
Read your decision or waitlist notice. Respond to the annual waitlist check to remain listed. If invited to apply from the waitlist, reapply within 45 days of the notice date. Before care starts, confirm your provider is approved for ERDC. Ask about your monthly copay and charges above ERDC's payment limit. Current recipients should renew on time.
6. What if something goes wrong?
Your waitlist notice includes appeal rights; follow its instructions and deadline if you disagree. If changed circumstances may qualify you to skip the waitlist, reapply through ONE or ODHS. If unsure what verification to provide, ask during the interview and then submit the requested information.
