- Read the linked local family-law program instructions and any appointment-preparation requirements. Ask the office about language, disability and remote-access assistance. Local program pages: https://www.courts.oregon.gov/courts/benton/programs-services/Pages/family.aspx
- Prepare the packet as far as possible. Ask the facilitator about form layout, missing sections and local procedural steps; seek a lawyer for decisions about claims, evidence, rights or what facts to write.
- Confirm separately how documents must be filed, served and followed up. A review appointment, email request or completed form is not a court filing and does not extend a deadline.
Timing: Confirm current office hours and appointments before travel. Individual court, service and class deadlines must be checked against your notices and controlling instructions.
4. What will it cost?
OJD describes family-law facilitation information and help as free. Filing fees, copies, parenting classes and other services are separate; confirm any applicable costs with the court.
5. What happens after I submit?
Ask how your review appointment or remote meeting will work, and keep the instructions or corrections you receive. Filing documents, serving another party and tracking court notices remain separate steps.
6. What if something goes wrong?
For appointment changes or unavailable service, contact the court or regional facilitation team. Ask a lawyer about urgent legal questions. A help request or appointment does not extend a deadline.
Language, disability and offline help
Ask the facilitator about language assistance, disability accommodations and a phone or video option. Confirm current availability with the program.
